Shandur Top Polo Match

The highest polo ground in the world at 3,700 m, this plateau is host to the annual polo match which takes place during the first week of July. Teams from Chitral and Gilgit vie for the trophy with additional attractions of the festival which includes folk music, traditional costume, highly skilled horsemanship, and dancing. The area is known as "The Roof of the World" and is usually only accessible from late April to early November.
