Regarded as an open-air museum, this town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Every age seems to be recognised here, from the Roman "Temple of Diana" to the houses that are white-washed and have pierced balconies reflecting a Portuguese and Moorish influence. Winding alley ways lie within the medieval walls of the Old City and there are many buildings of note including a Gothic cathedral and a blue-and-white tiled church.
