Petrovaradin Fortress
45.252894, 19.863273
The fortress dates back to the 18th century and is a magnificent example of fortification engineering. In this part of Europe, it is one of the largest and best preserved artillery bastions. The outer defence area is 5,200 metres long and has an intricate tunnel system constructed on four levels. In the clock tower, the minute and hour hands are reversed so that the local fisherman could see the time from afar. The EXIT Festival (music) is held here every year.
