The Skull Tower

A tower which is composed of human skulls. The tower is 10 feet tall and contains 952 skulls which are embedded on all four sides in 14 rows. In 1809, there was a battle between the Turks and Serbians. Rather than being caught by the Turks, the Serbian leader fired into a powder magazine causing his death and that of all the Serbians and Turkish soldiers in the area. Later, the Turkish leader decreed that a tower was to be built made from the Serbian skulls.
