Al Masjid Al Nabawi Mosque

The largest mosque in the world and the second holiest site in Islam. The basic plan is used for building mosques throughout the world. The tomb of Mohammed is in the southeast corner, as is the notable Green Dome which was painted green in 1837. The mosque is a major pilgrimage site and is open 24 hours a day.
