This iconic colonial-style hotel dates back to 1887. It was named after Stamford Raffles who founded Singapore. There is a tropical garden courtyard, a Victorian-style theatre, and a museum. Memorabilia and items were returned to the hotel following research by a public relations consultant. Fondly nicknamed "The grand lady of the Far East", it is where the Singapore Sling cocktail was invented.
