Every year this town is host to the charming festival which celebrates the return of the cows from their summer pastures in the highlands. Held on one Sunday during September (the date varies), the decorated cows are paraded around Lake Bohinj. Cultural activities such as song, dance, folk music, and lumberjack competitions are held among the many stalls selling milk, cheese, various crafts, and other gastronomic delights.
