Affectionately called "The Dubrovnik of North Adriatic", this city is enclosed by a circular wall and the buildings are of the medieval layout with narrow streets and small houses. It is a national historic monument, at the centre of which are Tartini Square and a statue in memory of the famous composer after whom the city was named. Nearby is his house and above the town is the Church of Saint George with a Franciscan Monastery.
