I travelled overland in a Truck Tour along the western section of the Silk Road, starting in Almaty, Kazakhstan and travelling through, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan across the Caspian Sea by ferry to Baku, Azerbaijan, then onto Georgia, Armenia, to Istanbul, Turkey.  Very interesting trip.
