The Historic Centre of Lviv
49.842483, 24.032345
The historic city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounding the cobbled Ploshcha Rynok (Market Square) are 16th-century town houses that are decorated with gargoyles of all styles. These celebrate the former merchant owners to patron saints. All types of architecture stand side by side: Renaissance, Rococo, Baroque, and Neoclassical. Small alleyways and medieval streets complete the picture of the past. Many wonderful churches can be seen with their copper spires and lavish decoration.
