Date of my visit

Last weekend I had the pleasure of joining a group of about 30 motorcyclists from Phoenix to ride up Morenci to Springerville, spend the night, and then ride down Hwy 60 through Globe and back home. What a fantastic ride.

I also discovered that I am prone to motion sickness when taking on twisties. By the time we reached Blue Vista Lookout (aka Blue Vista Outlook?) I was extremely nauseous. Note to self, and you might do the same: bring Nauzene or some other anti-nausea medicine, and take it before you begin the ride up Highway 191.

Overall, though, it was a fun, spectacular ride, lots of twisties, and AMAZING views. Lots of very tight twisties through the mountains and hills going up Highway 191, and the starting point in Morenci was really cool, seeing all the mining activity, driving under a big mining sifting/crane thing and through a tunnel. The ride back home, too, on Highway 60, was enjoyable too; not so green, mostly just canyon rock, but very interesting and just enough twists to keep from getting bored.

Here's a video of the experience. Enjoy!
