My experience at Davidson River is incredible. I orignally grew up in this area of North Carolina, just outside of Brevard in Pisgah National Forest. The campground is situated on US Highway 276, a scenic and exceptional maintained road that cuts up the middle of the National Forest, leading to access of The Blue Ridge Parkway. Along this stretch of road are several attractions close to the campground including tubing down the river, sliding rock, Looking Glass Falls, and more. Once you get farther up 276 there are scenic overlooks to pull off onto as well. The campground itself is well maintained and offers a great place to base camp for a few days as you explore the nearby roads and attractions.
