We rode the Cherohala Skyway from Telico Plains TN.  Just after the NC state line you get off the skyway and take a dirt road for some great dual sport riding.  We were riding this at night so it made for some interesting challanges.  

I brought only a hammock for camping which didn't work out well in the meadow since there are no trees except on the edges.  Since we got there at around 11pm I didn't feel like looking for 2 good trees to hang from, so I cowboy camped that night.  Storms were all round us, which was awesome to watch from atop the mountain.  The elevation is over 5000 ft. so it did get cool even though we were in the middle of summer.
