Grand Canyon

This spectacular mile-deep canyon can be viewed from two areas: the South Rim 129 km from Flagstaff or the North Rim 435 km east of Las Vegas. The ravine is 446 km long and up to 29 km wide. It is one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The striped walls show a different light according to the time of day, and often hour by hour, with colours ranging from crimson to orange to purple. Its grandeur is staggering to the eye - a view that, once seen, will never be forgotten.
