This is a Spanish colonial city with Spanish and Dutch architecture. It is UNESCO World Heritage Site of 600 18th and 19th century buildings featuring merchant houses, churches, and a cathedral. Cobblestone streets are in some parts of the city and mud-brick homes are found around the port area. Coro National Park is famous for the only sand dunes in South America.
