Imperial Citadel of Thang Long

For 13 centuries this ancient site was the political centre of the country and the central area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Foundations of roads, palaces, roads, wells and ponds can be seen. A restored fortress and the Hanoi Flag Tower are popular places to visit. Old coins, pottery and ceramics are on view. The display room has a replica of the citadel. Nearby is the Vietnamese Presidential palace.
