Kruger National Park
-23.854246, 31.56732
This park covers nearly two million hectares and was established in 1898 to protect wildlife, bushman rock paintings, and archeological sites. The animals are wild, but have become accustomed to the 4x4 transports driven by the rangers who endeavor to show you the "Big Five" animals: elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and rhinoceros. Cheetah, African wild dog, zebra, giraffe, hippopotamus, and over 500 species of birds can also be seen. These safaris take you through various landscapes of open grasslands, thick forests, and rolling hills.
