Starting out in 3 Days
Country

Plunging right in...

In 3 days, I'll pick up my new red Honda CRF250L Rally at Lifestyles Honda in Mt. Vernon, Washington.   I'll strap on my Pac Safe carryon bag, thank "Two Strokes Kurt", the sales rep, for all his great help,  and ride North for an hour to Canada.

I'll cross over the border, head up to Surrey about 20 minutes away, find a place that serves blueberry pancakes, and then turn around and cross back into the USA.

Canada?  Done!

Then, down to Bellingham, to Western Washington University where my son's a Freshman.   I'll meet him there, have lunch in his college cafeteria (fully armored), and bask in his admiration and approval.  He's getting a huge kick out of his sedentary Dad doing this and has already shared it with all his friends.

This will be one of the high points of the Trip for me.

Waving goodbye (very carefully, it wouldn't do to wobble as I leave him), I'll head southwards, to Nogales, Mexico, where I plan to end this leg of the trip with some Tacos al Pastor.

I'll ride along the Pacific Coast most of the way, through Oregon and California, down famous and funky Route 101.    I hope to catch a lot of Pacific sunsets,  spend time in  local cafes, visit with a couple of old friends, and make new ones along the way.

My wife Jayne may meet me at some point on the way down--drive up from Tucson, our new home base.      But she's not commiting to that, it'll depend on her own schedule.   After 27 years married, we treasure our alone time as much as the time we're together.
