A postponement, not an end

When I look back at my previous entries,  they seem comical in my determination to pretend that all was going to be OK.   That the coronavirus was just a blip on the screen, that it would stop at the borders of China, that the WHO, the CDC, the European Union, and all the people that work on epidemcis, would somehow get it under control as they've done with so many before.

I was like that guy falling from the top of a 20 story building who, passing a fellow looking out his window on the tenth, yells to him:    "So far, so good!"

Of course, that wasn't the case and now I'm just happy to be able to be close enough to my family to get back to them.

For the record, I got as far as Seaside, Oregon, a delightful town on the beach, about 5 hours south of Seattle.

Some day, I hope in the not too distant future, I'll be coming through here again on my way south towards Argentina, the first leg of my RTW trip.

I'm just postponing the trip, not ending it!

On another note, I want to give a SHOUT OUT... KUDOS... to  MotoFreight, a motorcycle shipping firm based in the UK.   They've been helping me with a shipment of a bike to Cape Town.

Anyways, that all got delayed of course and now my "Euro/Africa/Asia Bike",  a Honda CRF250L as well, is in storage with them in the UK.

But here's the really cool part of this story:   MotoFreight just announced that they were giving free storage for bikes belonging to any non UK citizens who've been stranded there!

I'd already agreed to a reasonable storage fee with them and a couple of days later, when they decided on the above, they waived it.  And this in a time when, I'm sure, their business is down.       These are very special people including Kathy Wood, Tim Pugh, several others there.

In the future, when the world gets going again, and you need anything to do with motorcycle freight, I suggest you contact them first.

By the way, I found out about them on Horizons...   Thank you!
