Slacking in Seattle

Slacking in Seattle

So, we cut across from the coast to Kelso, WA for the evening. In the morning we rode to and around Mt. Rainier, but I only got one pic due to not stopping and it being cold. In case you didn’t know, 90% of my pics are taken from the saddle while riding. If I stopped to take a pic every time I thought about it, I wouldn’t get any where.

We got to Dave and Jen’s place in Seattle. On Friday, they took us around town a bit. The neatest place was the Pike Place Market.

You’ve seen it, it’s where these guys throw fish…

World Famous Pike Place Fish (just read their sign) looked like sushi on ice to me. We had a big breakfast (huge cinnamon roll sliced up and fixed as French toast - yum!) but skipped lunch so it was all I could do to keep from sawing off a chunk of salmon and gnawing on it.

The sights and smells of the market were amazing….

And it’s all on the waterfront downtown.

We had an amazing dinner at Ray’s Café on the water somewhere in the Seattle Metro area. Talk about a confusing place to get around. All the roads have numbers, that seem to be random, and vary between streets, places, avenues, ways, NE, SE….thank goodness Dave and Jen were there (and used MapQuest, they’re still new to the area too).

Dinner was - Ahi tuna and smoked salmon skewers for appetizers; Crab and corn chowder; and pan-seared coho salmon for the entrée. Topped off with a slice of cheesecake decorated with Northwest fruit (blue and black berries). We could barely walk afterward.

That’s all for this report. We took a day and a half off, so sue me.
