Qualeetee!

So trip to Sayulita (near Puerto Vallarta) went smoothly, if not tiring.

I had to stay up late Thurs night packing and had to be up super early Fri. To add to that, a last minute call to the doctor about my allergies (and an agravating cough) resulted in a last minute doctors appointment and medication for Strep Throat! Needless to say with little sleep and an illness the flights here and cab ride all sort of drifted by in a fog.

The place where I am staying is also where the bike has been stored sooo of course the second I dropped my bags off I went to check on Ole Bobby-Sue.

The bike is fine, all tucked away under covers and locked up. The Mexican dude that runs the place and I quickly pulled the covers off. The bike was thorougly coated with a super thick layer of dust and grime, and some rust from the salt air.

I checked to see if the battery had charge. We forgot to disconnect it in the rush of leaving last trip. So I put in the key, lights on the dash - good sign! Hmm, all systems ready, checked, abit of throttle and it turned over strongly! A few more tries and vrooom if fires right up! After almost 4 months of storage!

The funniest part was the old mexican dude there looking at me, in his huge white cowboy hat, giving thumbs up and saying in a tone only found in tropical beach places - "Qualeeeteee!"

Not bad for 26 year old bike eh? Gotta love Hondas.

Ok so now I will be chilling out here, surf abit, work abit, and hopefully recover from this illness so I make the 2000km ride to LA in good order.

A hotel room full of gear.
