Introduction

Date of update

Ahoyhoy,
I'm Dr Chris 'Tigger' Targett. Today I set off on my 5 month, 20,000 mile, solo and unsupported circumnavigation of South America. All of this is to try and raise as much money as possible for MAGPAS emergency medic service and Riders for health.
I admit it here I am a tad nervous but mostly excited.
I fly out to Buenos Aires to catch up with my motorcycle, Sir Humphrey Bikelby, who arrived on 28/01/12.

Oh my heavens I'm abroad!!

Ahoyhoy Tiggers Travels followers,
Thanks to both of you for taking the time to have a quick squiz at what's happening out here on the trip. Good and bad so far. Alas you'll have to be brought up to speed solely by my monotonous poorly spelt droan as the computer i'm using was originally Noah's before he upgraded and I can't get the pictures to you yet.
So what has happened?

Day 2....Las Flores

Date of update

Quick update to say my SPOT GPS messenger doesn't seem to be working....and Sir Humphrey is safely through customs! Hurrah!! I'm now approx 120 miles south west of Buenos Aires in a town called Las Flores, tired and a little dehydrated. Otherwise doing well. More to follow soon....

Peninsula Valdes

Date of update

Ahoyhoy following friends,
I hope you´re both well still.
First off we managed just shy of 500miles today to give some extra time on the Peninsula Valdes where the guide book promises whale watching by boat; actually the book is wrong and the whales have apparently swum on but we´ll see what we can see wrt nature tomorrow. Also going to give Sir Humphrey some TLC tomorrow too. Little Tigger and Magpaws are so dirty they´ve opted for aiming to black up in grime and dust rather than risk an inconsistent and risky wash.

More Penguins

Date of update

Just to correct my previous blog - a group of penguins is not called a pickupa of penguins. I have just learned that the name for a group of penguins changes by location. The all encompassing term is a colony, a group of nesting penguins is a rookery, and a group of penguins on land are called a waddle.
I like waddle of penguins but if we all call them a pickupa of penguins and teach this to our children can we create a new word? Try, I´m going to.

Time is on my side

Date of update

I´m back, ahoyhoy.
What a pleasant day. Potter around, write my log, fix Humphrey, long shower, do my washing, pootle to internet cafe. I seem to have discovered time. Time to do things, time not to feel rushed. Admitedly I only manage this by not having much to do but it feels amazing! Actually I am massively against the clock wrt getting home before the lights go out due to non payment but right now its cool man.
