8: the long way home.

Holy shit!  We awoke in the morning to big wet heavy snow blowing in sideways.  we quickly packed up and helped Beau get the trailer hooked up.  Not that he needed our help.  He is a pro at hooking that thing up.  The poor trailer stunk like dirty riding gear and man farts so bad that we were sure he would have to get it professionally cleaned.  A week of poor food choices and beers had caught up with our digestion.  The Guys convinced me to change my tires in town and not on the mountain.  we got the hell out of there before we got snowed in.  We said our goodbyes to our new friends and headed in to town to re group and sort our gear.

From minus 5 and snowing to plus 15 and sunny we took up a corner of the Canadian Tire parking lot and dried out gear while I changed my bikes rubber.  Eric and Davinder went to get us some egg McMuffins and coffee to fight off the hangovers.  In no time, the bike were loaded, Eric and Beau heading home to the south while davinder and I booking it to the north.  It seemed that the temperature dropped with every KM we drove and I was freezing without any heated gear.  By 6:30 we were approaching Quesnel the sun was down and we were done!  we grabbed a hotel and some pizza and called it a night.  With a mere 10 hour drive the next day, our trip was almost over.  We rose early and took off for home but in my haste I left my action cam sitting on my bags when we drove away and didn’t realize it until much later.  I had now lost well over 1000$ worth of cameras on this trip and was getting very cranky about it.  We made it home cold but in good spirits chased out by the snow and my insurance ran out the next day.  It was a great end to the season!
