First impressions of Bulgaria: they like their planes!

First thing I came across was a MiG 17 (I think? Happy to be corrected) on a stand in the middle of some village. Was in really good nick so someone there certainly cared for it.

There was also some sort of passenger plane in a village a couple of days later. No idea how it got there as there was no flat land for a runway nearby that I could see. There was a local guy hanging around when I got off the bike and, in a sort of broken communication where I don't speak Bulgarian and he only spoke a tiny English, I got the impression he used to be a pilot and he learned to fly bombers in the Soviet airforce. I'm sure he said he was to bomb Boston. I tried to explain that he needn't have bothered...
