High on Life - Up the Andes... again

What a culture shock... leaving Bolivia and entering Argentina.Argentine servos (gas stations) have cafes that are a) open, b) stocked and c) clean! Along the highway you find pull outs with a shady tree and picnic table. Tourist information offices are open with friendly staff and information!! OMG! we felt like we had returned to civilization.

China

by mwr09 as part of RTW 2009.

So with the bike no more, I made it to Beijing, a big change from Ulan Bataar! It turns out that contrary to popular belief leaving a motorbike in Mongolia is actually very easy. If your reading this and need to know how, get in touch. Beijing is huge, very busy, and littered with amusing translations, which will now litter this blog since I found it funny!

Post Script

by Bonnygirl as part of Australian Adventures.

Friday 11th March 2011 – Here’s a funny story for you all. On the plane to Hong Kong during a bit of mild turbulence I started to feel a bit queezy. However, never having suffered from any form of travel sickness I discounted the possibility that I may be sick and decided to go to sleep instead. Sometime later, the girl in the seat next to me starts shaking me awake as, it turns out, I was vomiting in my sleep! On awakening I grabbed the sick bag and proceeded to empty my guts into it.

2004 - Three days to go

by admin as part of African Antics.

As we sit here in our empty flat with 3 days to go before we set off on our "Paul and Zoe do Africa 2004" trip, it's with a mixture of happy and sad feelings that we look back over the last 3 years in Guildford. Sad, because we are leaving behind our friends, family and a happy home; happy, because we are about to set off on the adventure of a lifetime.
But that's enough deep reflection, it's with the great British "Chin-up Marther!" and "Onwards and upwards Henry!" that we will be entering the next chapter of our lives. Now where's that Pimms and lemonade?!

Wind

by Bonnygirl as part of Australian Adventures.

Monday 20th December 2010 – I stayed 2 nights in Mildura. As soon as I rode in I felt it was perhaps a bit of a rough town and, when I saw a guy being pinned to the ground by 6 police officers, it confirmed my suspicions. It had been great to rest up and not have to contend with the mossies again, but I was glad to leave.

I am a shin kicking kinda cub!!
