Palenque

Brilliant Mayan site. Although only 2% has been uncovered the site is impressive, comparable with other major Mayan sites. 

Guides are available at the entrance, the price is negotiable despite the posted fees. There is plenty of background information online.

The Museum is worth a visit as it adds background, it is included in the entrance fee (keep you ticket with you).

Jan 2018.  There are two fees to pay (motobikes) 65MXPs  per bike for five days to enter the area, or use the road. 70MXPs pp to visit the ruins.  If you wish to leave your motos behind the collectivos are 20 MXP per pp per journey. Guide, we paid 500MPS for 1 1/2 hour guide for 2 people.
