Yesterday turned into a rest day while Henk & Mike waited for a new chain to arrive for Mikes' bike. It has been hard find parts, so had to fit a non o-ring chain in Broome. That chain is now knackered after only 2300 km.
The morning ritual on the road has been to bang out boots and helmet checking for spiders and scorpions, and to shake out jacket and trousers in case snakes have slivered in overnight. Added to that now is, if there is a toilet, check under the lid for frogs before settling in for the morning constitutional. When its hotter than a snakes butt in a waggon rut, frogs need water.
Amazing roads and no speed limit in NT. Averaged 126 km/hr today until both ran out of petrol within 7 km of each other. Petrol now over $2/l.
Haven't seen Robin and the Hog since Port Headland. Robin was planning to go down through the centre to Alice Springs and out to the rock. May not catch up with him again until Sydney.
