And finally…. The Great Wall - We made it!
Country

Maybe I'm not fully realizing what we have done ... Since 53 days we are on our motorbike, we travelled almost 18000 km, now we are having a quiet walk on the Great Wall ...... Tomorrow morning will travel the last 215 km to the port of Tianjin, where we will leave our motorbikes to the shipper, then we will have a few days left to visit Beijing and finish our trip. We start already thinking about how to fix your luggage, spare parts, then return home. It will all be so fast, compared to the frequency we have to almost two months.

17.875KM, through eight countries in 47 days of effective riding (388km the overall average), of which about 1000 on gravel and dirt roads, and 9000 kms in 8 provinces across China. 16 mountain passes beyond 5000 meters, 1 day rainy poor (accumulation of the different showers), 2 degrees suffered the slightest temperature (Darchen in Tibet), 46 degrees maximum (ring road of Tehran, in traffic), 3000 litres of gasoline and 5 of oil for the 3 motorbikes, 14 hours the longest day, 950km the longest track…. We concluded our long journey with a symbolic visit to the Italian Embassy in Beijing, where, at the invitation of the Ambassador Ettore Sequi absent for work, we were received by the Consul Massimo Gaudiano for a friendly chat. We expected to see foggy Beijing in chaos, but today it is surrounded by a beautiful blue sky. We visited the Summer Palace, the summer residence of government in the Qing Dynasty. Yesterday the day was dedicated to Tiananmen Place and the Forbidden City.  We thank all those who have enabled us to make this beautiful trip, who contributed with great material (Thanks to GIVI - MTECH - Motoforniture Codenotti - Saddles JM BRIANT) and with technical skills useful advice (Thanks Gibì!!). Thanks mainly to our families who have taken care of the children and all the messages of encouragement!

For all this, and much more to come….

ON THE ROAD AGAIN….. FOREVER!
