In Gabon - about 100km from the Equator
by admin as part of Pascal and Sylvain's bike journey from Johannesburg to Paris via Central and West Africa..
We made it to Gabon - we re now about 100km from the Equator. The road was good today and we managed to enjoy some of the scenery rather than focusing on where to steer our front wheel : villages, trees that fill the horizon and locals selling a variety of bush meat hanging from wooden displays on the side of the road. Yum. Spending the night in Lambarene - quaint town by a river.
BIKES AND TEAM ARRIVE
by admin as part of Europe 2010.Well the bikes arrived and the team caught up with each other at Henks brothers in Holland. Before being allowed into the country poor oll Henk had to be subject to hard interigation from customs! Perhaps they new he was an allien and didnt trust his real motives of being in a strange place like Holland?
Then his bike wouldnt start! Apparently all the fuel had to be removed for safety while been shipped over and someone had reconnected the fuel lines back to front.
Grande Brasil
by Murray Castle as part of Katie & the Bumblebee. After an hour of formalities at the Uruguay/Brazil border at Chui, we are on our way in another new country. We ride through lowlands heavily saturated with standing water full of standing cows. Our first night in Brasil is in the city of Rio Grande. Hey, that´s the same name as the city we spent our first night in Argentina, only that Rio Grande on Tierra del Fuego is half a continent away from here.

by admin as part of Europe 2010.Today the ride took the guys and girls from S Maxine France to Rappallo Italy.350ks. Colin started the day off with a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean amoung lots of jelly fish! They then rode through Monarco just as all the teams for the formular one GP were arriving for practice before the race on 16th May. The teams got seperated on the motorway which took quite some time to get back together. The roads here are amasing, one minute you are in a tunnel the next you are riding over a viaduct, often with nothing in between. They all went out for pizza at Abdulas Lebanise Italian.

Pucon to San Rafael
by SKILLO as part of Round the World - in Stages. Our days in Pucon are quite blissful, our first morning we awake to a beautiful sunny day and although it is very hot, we have a piscina (pool) to cool off in, the views to Volcan Villarica are uninterrupted and quite spectacular, although it is not puffing out any smoke. We do the usual chores, washing, mending, and research. The most exciting thing about Pucon is the huge amounts of different foods available, we score Burrito mix and Petaks Tikka Masala curry sauce, heaps of fruit and veges, we are in seventh heaven.

Sucre to Samaipata
by SKILLO as part of Round the World - in Stages.People come to Sucre for three days and stay for three months, it is just that kind of place. It is a really easy city to negotiate, there are great restaurants, markets/supermarkets, cultural museums and activities.Life here is simple. Our move to Hostel Pachamama (Mother Earth) proves to be the right one, the cost is 100 Bol ($15.00AUD) per night and we have our own big room with ensuite on the second floor overlooking the garden. It really is a gorgeous place.
