by Redwineracing as part of To America and Beyond.

Friday 22nd May
We are having a couple of days off we have stopped in Cartersville at a place with an outdoor pool, so today as the sun was out we have had a pool day. Well despite me using sun block and trying not to sit out in the sun to long I still managed to get slightly burnt unlike Marcia who is now red as a lobster.

Saturday 23rd May
Another lazy day but we did get out on the bike. All of 7 miles to he Bartow History Museum and the Bartow Western Art Museum.

SPAIN 1- MAY 2004

by patandbin as part of 6months travelling, 6months Cairns from 1999-?.

Sorry, this has taken so long, too many things to see and too little time! Palma, Mallorcas capital city, has an old city area surrounded by fotified walls with turrets on all corners. Inside is a medievil city with narrow cobblestone streets, stone buildings and modern shop facades; tapas bars and small restaurants flow their tables right onto the streets. Outside the walls and on the waterfront is the sheltered harbour mooring the most expensive boats in the world- those being owned by the Arabian oil rich Sheiks.

PARTY TIME

by admin as part of Ron and Rockets Birthday Tour 2008.

On arrival back to the tent we ate a spot of lunch before I changed into shorts and went and sat near the entrance with a ice cold lager to watch the bikes arrive. IT was Hot! well into the 80's and my tan was coming on I was starting to turn a nice brown. Rocket took to a shady area and had a nap. As the rest of the crew were not due to arrive until the next day, I was left to my own device's, with all the good food and plenty of Beer I think I will survive!

Italy and Greece

by colin masters as part of Wrinklies Wround the World 2006-2007.

We went to Pompeii- and it was shut!- and so to Greece and unknown territory.Left Pisa 13/03/06 to Tarquinia which is a medi-evil walled city. Very windy- this is called 'The Montana' and lasts either 1 or 3 days. It was day 2 when we got there. Normally I am not keen on high winds on the back of the Bike but she felt very stable and comfortable.

Colin has been very pleased with the very last 'mod' that he did before leaving UK. That was to fit handle bar muffs. They have been very succesful. I'm OK with the heated jacket and gloves.

North Carolina

by Redwineracing as part of To America and Beyond.

I am having to re write this as my iPad decided to lose notes on the last 5 days so this may not be very accurate.
Monday 25th May
We had a good ride from Atlanta to North Carolina to Bob and Jude's for a cookout.
We were made very welcome by every one there and the food was great. Bop and Jude have a fantastic place up in the Mountains of the Nantahala National Forest surrounded by twisty mountain roads.

"Been to India? Get this Inderya"

by admin as part of India - Africa 2010.

The first two days in India and purchase of Royal Enfield Thunderbird
Confirming arrival in India; hundreds of people to greet me at the airport, check; dozens of persistent rickshaw drivers, check; sneaky illegal money changers, check; dusty boogers within minutes, check; ample supply of grotty hotel rooms, check; visits to three different offices needed to buy one simple train ticket, check; beaming smiles after initial unease, check; cheap prices for just about everything, check! Indeed I have arrived in India :)

Update

by admin as part of Ron and Rockets Birthday Tour 2008.

We started to ride up the mountain towards the village where the rally was being held. This mountain was used as one of the stages for The Tour De France cycle race this year.
As we started to climb the bends got tighter and tighter, at one stage I nearly lost it as Rocket decided to move as we rounded a tight hairpin making me lose balance.
