So onto day 2...
Cologne to Magdeburg (approx 270 miles) mainly fast motorways and cruising speeds.
The sun was shining all day, so much so that by the time we got close to Magdeburg, we were stripping off the layers.
We had lunch in a place off the motorway, near a river, only to be befriended by a (boring) Scot who then presumed it suitable to tell us of his travels East (he is a truck driver) in too much detail and colour.

We also had our first technical issue with the bikes. Nothing too challenging but needless to say, our two heroes dealt with ít calmly and logically - no panic attacks here I can tell you.

Magdeburg looks a cool place and with the sun shining, it's T shirt weather as we sit in a roadside bar having a beer - how's Blighty ?

This is also the first night where Saad and I share a hotel room. My hayfever has started and as such my snoring could well reach Olympian hieghts tonight. Expect a very different blog from Saad tomorrow.

Off to Poznan in Poland tomorrow.
