Update

Arriving ýn Frankfurt after a stop over ýn Tokyo and quýte an exceptýonal sushi meal consýsting of the most amazing colours shapes and flavours i have ever encounted in a meal and the most repulsive a bowl of what could only be described as cold gelatenous seeweed stýrred with gritty dirt. Amazing.

Ý hired a car and set off for Walluf a small výllage just outside of Weisbaden. Unfortunately the combination of driving on the other sýde of the road and jet lag resulted in me pulling the car over blowing up my air mattress and sleeping in the forest.

The next morning after pinching a bit of brakfast from a hotel lobby i managed to get the GPS in the car going and was directed straight to Walluf where i found the motorcycle and Kruger ýts owner a very strange and very German man wýth a long grey breard and mýscheveous but serýous eys, být lýke somethýng out of Tolkeins 'the hobbit' really.

So there was the Bike a 1988 R100 GS in all its retro glory. The feeling when i saw it was pretty exciting I must say. I had never ridden a bike over 650 cc so this was going to be quite a blast. Unfortunately it was here that i started to run into the red tape. Ahh yes the red tape that would follow me and direct my path into every unwanted senario accross planet earth.

I couldnt take it for a test drive, no insurance for me. No probs ill just go to the bank and hand over the cash. No you cannot do this either. Ahh so how do i buy it? Im glad you asked. First I need to become a German resident. By going to the local town hall and registering this was not so difficult. Then I needed to get new matriculation plates for the bike and insurance also not to difficult, although it did take a few days I managed to camp in the widerness and kind of walked everywhere. Paying Kruger for the bike was an ordeal in itself as firstly he wanted cash and i could only withdraw 500 euro a day.

This required opening a German bank account and having my money tranferred into this account. Another few days camping, pinching the odd meal, walking everywhere
