Last preparations in Jo'burg

This is the start: Getting the bike ready for a three months trip from Johannesburg to Munich.Welcome to my blog and for joining me on my way from South Africa to Germany.
After months of preparation, updating plans I initially started back in 2010, today is the first day of my personal biggest adventure so far. I have arrived in Johannesburg and will soon be reunited with my bike.

With the great help of Donovan, Gina and the late Ray Muller at Cytech/ToursforAfrica, Ken and Jeromy at Drifters Adventure Tours, my friends Boris and Sandra from Cape Town, and many others, I came up with a rough itinerary which follows the east coast of Africa, then (hopefully) crossing the Arab peninsula towards Iran and back into Europe through Turkey and Greece. I will provide information on visa regulations and border crossings while progressing on my way north.

I will be on the road for almost three months, being back in Germany by the end of May. I am expecting some heat and rain, some great African scenery, and I hope to meet some inspiring people with fascination stories on the way, which I will share with you.

Please sign up for regular updates on the right, I will send regular (not daily) updates on my progress! Please send questions and greetings, and feel free to comment on my FB profile as well!
