More San Carlos
We're enjoying our fortunate situation here in San Carlos and are taking in some more sights and activities.Today consisted of getting up early and installing a ceiling fan in the palapa. It got deathly still last night and we were all just siting about under the palapa sweating like a whore in church. I had discovered they had a fan in a box in pieces so I assembled and installed a fan. So much better now. After that we hitchhiked into town with a nice guy from Tuscon, Juanito, who was on his way into town to fuel up a jet ski. We stopped at Delphines,Christine's work(restaurant/bar) and watched the Mexico vs. Croatia match then strolled over to JJ's for tacos. They were amazing. Afterwards we hitched back around the bay with COPS! The cops here in town drive trucks with big roll bars on them. These two guys were really cool, probably didn't hurt that there were three young mujeres with us.
Once home we changed into swimwear and headed off to do some cliff jumping. Christine has a friend who is a scuba instructor and he had shown her a spot where it was safe to jump from either a 35' or a 60' cliff! I am not particularly fond of heights but this was an opportunity I wasn't going to pass up. We all ended up opting for the 35' leap and it still took a little mustering of nerves each time one of us jumped. Nobody did jump from the 60 footer. It was intimidating.
Maybe one more day in San Carlos and we'll be moving forward. We might hike Nacapule Canyon and pack up in preparation for our departure.
