Sun 13 and we were off to Marakesh after having had our boots cleaned for 50p,through the Atlas mountains and what a spectacular ride on deserted roads with tiny villages.They say that traversing the Atlas is one of the motor cycle 'musts ' and we tend to agree with that!
Again we were offered kif and there are pottery places every where trying to sell their wares or crystals of bright red or green. A lorry had lost 2 wheels off the axle near to the top- just avoided going over the edge !

EDP

The EDP (Temporary import letter of approval) and The last piece of the puzzle has arrived. So all I need to do now is book the freight then sit back and wait till the 9th of Feb.
Getting really excited about it. Its now starting feel real.

Wrinklies ride to Turkey 2011

Hi there folks - well Wrinklies are off again through and around Turkey. Hope to be away 8 weeks. We left UK on Monday 5 September 2011 on Herman --- our 1150 gs.
Had a great send off by Brendon and tasha who had come to wave bye bye !

Week 7-8

The nylon shell-suit is alive and well in living in the Eastern-bloc countries of Bulgaria and Romania. I’ve never felt so bang-on-trend!

April 15th - Border crossing between Romania, Moldova and Ukraine was a nightmare – had to go into Moldova twice, and got stung for a Green Card the second time. Stayed in a state-run hotel in Izmajil in Ukraine. When we booked in, we had to choose our breakfast for the following morning – “you may have porridge or one egg or one omelette, and tea” said the receptionist, and she wasn’t joking.

Once across the bridge we stopped in a rest area to check how long it would take us to get to the campsite, we reckoned about a hour tops!! Two hours later and in the dark after much map reading and cursing at my Sat-Nav, we decided to ask some locals stood outside a bar having a smoke a guy who spoke good Englishwho sent us off in the wrong direction. We returned to the town and decided to try Mick's Sat-Nav, this managed to take us into the Old part of Town down Roads!! just wide enough for a bike with panniers.

Hi there again folks - hope you enjoyed the last blog - here's the latest update. It'll be a bit long as we have been without any IT support for days !

First of all -- on the last posting it should have read : ' Colin's day was made by the lady at the Dubrovnic apartment hopping on the bike and riding sidesaddle up 3 floors to the garage ' !!!!! - I left the most important bit out !

Week 35 - 37

October 30th – dropped campervan off early, and got the Metro to the Airport. We reckon we’ve done another 1970 miles in the last 9 days on our second visit to Oz.
