Carsten und Tina waren so nett uns unser 2. Nothilfepacket mitzubringen. In unserem neuen Zelt gefaellt es uns richtig gut, das Objektiv, dass Ingo uns besorgt hat haben wir sofort ausprobiert und das Weihnachtspaeckchen das Dorit uns gepackt hat, hat richtig gut geschmeckt. Es gab auch noch neues Getriebeoel und neue Schlaeuche. Die beiden haben uns noch ein grosses Nutellaglass und den Tourenfahrer dazugelegt. Danke fuer eure liebe Hilfe. Achja... Juergen und danke das Du auch diesesmal die Sachen gesammelt/ besorgt hast.

We took a day off to tour Rota. It sets on the ocean and is a joint naval station with the Spanish and Americans. Rota was given as a gift, by the father of the bride, to his daughter when she married Ponce de Leon.

Update

Well we left Granada, NIC, for the beach at San Juan Del Sur, NIC, about 60 miles. It was a great ride. We are in a jungle lodge called Adventura Lodge.

Rosita is a pest. Watch out Sue, she bites.

Cartagena, Colombia to Changuinola, Panama

With only a week left on our Colombian visas, today is the day we finally leave Columbian shores. We are up at em at a reasonable hour but are unable to have a shower or even wash our hands and face as the water in Cartagena has been turned off for 24 hours, oh well bottled water and baby wipes it is. Breakfast, then taxi to the dock where we wait to be picked up by the guys from the Stahlratte.

Steven und Debby bringen uns mit ihrem Toyota Landcruiser zum Flughafen. Kaum zu glauben, das unser Gepaeck auf zwei Motorraeder passen soll. Es passt so gerade in den Toyota.

Alcatraz Island, I booked a ticket on the ferry in advance by phone, this is the most popular attraction here and booking is recommended.

Its a 15 minute ride on the ferry to the island, cool (13c) and windy.

As the final episode of Mondo Enduro came to an end I turned to my wife Jen and said that I felt the need to do something similar. Jen was one step ahead of me and knowing me all too well had seen this moment coming for weeks and so had kind of prepared herself.
