Update #2

My wife and I (Wayne and Micheline, 66 and 67 years young respectively) living in Anmore, BC (Vancouver area),  Canada will soon be embarking on a motorbike trip to Europe riding two up on my 2007 BMW R1200 GS.  The emergence of a few butterflies signifies that we are closing in on our Sept 10 departure date, with the logistics of shipping our own bike to Milan, Italy being pretty much taken care of, travel and motorbike insurance arranged, packing list more or less finalized as is our general routing plan.

The trigger for this trip is the 2018 World Team Senior Tennis Championships in Umag, Croatia from Sept. 16 - 23 in which my wife Micheline is participating as a member of the Canadian team.  As per usual with these "tennis" trips to various destinations around the world, we add a couple of weeks of travel once the tournament is over, this years twist being the motorcycling part.

So, we fly to Milan and head to Umag in northern Croatia.  Once the tournament is over we have planned a week of exploring in Croatia before catching a ferry from Dubrovnik to Bari, Italy.  The next 3 weeks will be spent in Italy, followed by a week or so in each of France and Spain.

Let the adventure begin.
