Day 6
Country
Went for a walk in the morning looking for breakfast and found a bakery. Local Honda dealer did not have a replacement clutch lever for Ron's bike however, an independent bike shop across the road managed to find one that fitted. Result! Bike fixed we headed to Phnom Penh so had to head back up the dusty road and then pickup the highway from the bridge at Neak Loeung.
When we stoped for a break, I blagged some free internet time at a mobile phone shop to look and book a hotel in Phnom Penh. Room for $2? Too good to be true and it was. When we arrived in busy (but not as they portray it on TV) Phnom Penh and at the hotel there was no booking made in our name. Tried to contact Agoda.com but they couldn't help. The room was still advertised at $2 so tried booking it again but without luck. In the end we got fed up waiting and paid the full price of $25 which was still cheap enough. Room was lovely and so were the staff.
Went walking to see the town centre and the Royal Palace. We quite liked Phnom Penh. It was clean and modern and not like you imagine it to be from watching TV/News. Ate some monkey nuts by the mighty Mekong river took a million photos and came back to the room after eating dinner.
