It's our last day in Vietnam. We catch our flights home just after midnight tonight but have to be in Hanoi by 5 pm to hand the bikes back. Actually we want to be in Hanoi by lunch time so we can have a look around for a bit. With this in mind we set off early to catch the 8 am ferry out of Cat Ba. The roads would be busy now that Tet holidays were over. It started raining again - not ideal as we did not want to travel home in wet clothes but...

The highway was horribly busy and we were glad to get off it and reach Hanoi around 2 pm. We had intended to keep the bikes for the afternoon and ride around Hanoi but after the journey we had had on the highway we just wanted to hand the bikes back which is what we did. We left our luggage at the bike shop and went for a wander. The local railway line ran straight through the middle of a residential area and as there were no trains scheduled to run till the evening people were just hanging around on the track. So we did too. Picked up our bags at 5 pm as the bike shop was closing and then went and killed a couple of hours in a cafe bar before catching a cab to the airport.
