by Rigby as part of Let the journey begin... .22 Nov 13
Next stop, Kourou. Just off the coast are the "Iles de Salute" or Islands of Salvation. Three islands which were part of the prison system one of which was called "Devils Island".
Out of Chile... into Argentina, then Chile again, then what the hell, Argentina...
by admin as part of las Amèricas.Leaving Jason to wait for a new rear tyre in Coyhaique I headed north conscious that I was on my own and fending for myself. No prob I thought, Im a big boy etc etc. 40 ks into the ride disaster struck Okay so it only took me 30 minutes to track the cause of my bikes miss-fire down to a loose battery terminal but that point at which you realise there is actually something wrong with your bike and ignoring it doesnt make it go away creates an empty gut type feeling in the pit if your stomach.

by admin as part of European Adventure.Okay, it is October 25th and we have made it to Albufeira in the Algarve. Ahhh, sunny and warm and ocean and ....... tourists.
But I well get to that.
After leaving Salamanca (a city we both liked) we head for Portugal and a city called Coimbra ( pronounced queembra) We decide to stay in a chain hotel near the centre of the city. We arrive a bit late in the day and just crash in the room. This city has a bit of a rough feel to it. Not sure why.

by Rigby as part of Let the journey begin... .First, to everyone that has sent emails, posted on FB and my SPOT link, thank you very much. I've received lots of compliments and encouragement and I really appreciate it. I apologize if I don't always respond , well hardly ever, I'm not very good at FB. So, to anyone that has had a birthday, birth, marriage, anniversary, had a great ride, got a new motorcycle, won the lottery or any other good things, congratulations. This also apples to any and all fellow travelers I have met along the way.

by admin as part of RTW 2006-2007.No time to think, we were already late for our 5:00am meeting at Perfect English for a last hug and goodbye to our staff and friends crazy enough to get up so early to see us off. After more than a year in planning, the pre-departure good byes, last business dinners and what seemed to be an endless round of planned and several unexpected TV and newspaper interviews, the morning of our departure arrived in a state of total confusion.July 29, 2006
A week in County Kerry
by admin as part of European Adventure.Saturday the 23rd - another beautiful and sunny day in Ireland. Uncle Brian and Marge take us out on a tour of the area so that we can get off the bike for awhile and not have to worry about finding our way. Uncle Brian is an excellent tour guide and knows everything there is to know about the area historically. We start off heading down the coast to Fenit and take a 2 hour boat trip around Tralee Bay. The weather was now hot and we were sun tanning on the boat !! We got to see where we would be taking our next tour as it was across the water on the Dingle coast.

We neglected yesterday to tell you about our dinner on the night of Day 20. It was our great fortune to stumble onto a motel that boasts the chef who won the Woodward, Oklahoma, catfish cooking competition three years running. Bo thinks it was the best catfish he had ever tasted, with the exception of that served by Country & Western Restaurant in Camden, Tennessee. Your travelers do know how to live!
