Worsening weather means a quick lunch stop in the characterless town of Tucumcari as we make a quick detour to the ghost town of Glenrio near the border with New Mexico.This once thriving town with garage and motel is now only inhabited by roaming dogs.

We decide to overnight in the quite little town of Santa Rosa which has a great car museum and the "blue hole" (an 81ft deep hole fed by a spring) among its attractions.
