Wednesday 16th Sept - Amarillo - Santa Rosa (NM)

Make sure on you trip out of Amarillo that you don't miss the famous Cadillac Ranch off exit 60.If you're feeling creative bring some paint and add to the previous artistic contirbutions on the buried cars.

The strong winds have persisted and we are forced to belt up the miles on the highway until the exit for the alleged mid way point on 66 of Adrian. The diner is great and you can get virtually anything you want in 66 memento's here. Worsening weather means a quick lunch stop in the characterless town of Tucumcari as we make a quick detour to the ghost town of Glenrio near the border with New Mexico. This once thriving town with garage and motel is now only inhabited by roaming dogs.

We decide to overnight in the quite little town of Santa Rosa which has a great car museum and the "blue hole" (an 81ft deep hole fed by a spring) among its attractions.
