Prelim

When we planned and started our trip, I didnˋt intend to write about it. An experienced traveller (Hi Tiffany) encouraged me to do it, since most people start with small adventures and might find it helpful.

I am 30 years old and did my licence last year. Already before finishing my licence I had fallen in love with the Yamaha XSR700. At the time I didnˋt think about motorcycle travelling but mostly wanted a ride for tours in the region. But soon enough I looked for motorcycle literature and it was all about travels and I started reading....and dreaming.

Living in the very west of Germany, I quickly figured out that England would be in reach. At the same time my fiancée made a bucket list of countries to see and England was on top. So we decided to plan a roadtrip to England.

We quickly decided to stick mostly to the coasts with a visit to London and to use BnBs as well as AirBnBs since we‘d be rising 2up and wouldn‘t have much space left for camping gear.

In terms of packing we took one set of motorcycle clothes, 2 sets of regular clothes, plus underwear for 4 days, swimming stuff, raincoats, chain lube, sparekey for the bike (!), a powerbank, AC adapters and a gopro.

The bike has two saddlebags and we used a luggage roll and a backpack.

Special thanks to @rambrose who gave us a lot of England-specific informatiom for the tour
