July 2006: Homer, Alaska
I was told by a elderly couple that I just had to see the Kenai Peninsula and especially Homer, Alaska. Well, that's all it took and I drove until midnight but I arrived at the beach of Homer Spit for a few days of rest.I reached the outskirts of Homer around dusk, which at this time of year was around 8pm.
The next day my job was to replace the brake pads. I had never done this before so it took me most of the day. During that time a fellow BMW rider came by to see if I needed help. I had everything under control but he offered to take me out fishing.
I also paid a few visits to the Salty Dawg bar.
The sunsets were remarkable.
I had my best meals on that beach; the freshest seafood ever, including some Halibut I caught myself.
I spent the July 4th weekend on the beach and toyed with the idea of working in Homer for the summer, but then I might never reach Argentina!
