Taxco
I would have liked to stay in Morelia longer, but had to move on. First it was to Toluca for a new battery and then I started heading south.
It was a long boring drive from Morelia to Toluca, and almost couldn´t get out of downtown Toluca but soon enough I found the BMW dealer.
And just like he said Pepe came over to meet me and then took me to his house and then showed me around Toluca.
Toluca Botanical Gardens were impressive.
That night they were going to a quincera party which is held when a girl turns 15. It was quite a party.
The next day Pepe took me to a motorcycle meeting and then he and his friend escorted me almost all the way to Taxco on the ´libre´ which was an adventure.
I will not forget their hospitality.
A late start leaving Toluca and a holiday weekend left me with few choices in Taxco. A man in the tourist office at first told me there were no rooms anywhere but when I was alone with him he told me of one cheap place with parking. Unfortunately, it was up a very steep hill right on a curve. I managed to get up but almost lost it trying to turn into the parking lot.
I found Taxco to be an enjoyable little town once the hordes of tourist left.
Good food, also.
