Montana June 2006
I made it to Helena, Montana after my mishap in Yellowstone. Bill from Horizons Unlimited offered his home for me to rest up and work on the bike. It was a much needed rest, but soon I was back on the road and entering Canada.
I found Bill just as he was getting off from work and the local motorcycle dealer. He really loves his motorcycles. We had a good omen when a beautiful rainbow appeared as we were working on my bike.
A few days and I was back on the road for Glacier National Park and the Road to the Sun. Unfortunately, the road was snowed in and I didn't get to ride the road. Riding north up to the park it was clear skies and I realized why they called Montana "Big Sky Country".
As I approached Canada I drove through the Indian reservation of the Blackfoot nation. It was sad to see such poverty where monuments to the past strength of the people were everywhere. As I moved north the weather turned nasty with a heavy fog setting in.
