23RD MAY,MISS GARMIN IS PROMOTED TO MADAM
H/Berg Denmark to Diekirch L. 320ks
Sorry but have lost the first part of todays blog.
After moving off up the Autobahn today the GPS akka Miss garmin decided to break free from Colin and Frans bike and bounce off down the road! Luckily though Henk had seen this and managed to pull up quickly and turn around to go back for it. Pia hadnt seen what was happening so could only assume that she must have leant the wrong way going around the last corner and was now been told to GET OFF! By the time Colin and Fran had pulled over, turned around and gone back up the autobahn against the flow of traffic, Pia had worked out the real reason for the sudden halt and the demand to get off the bike and had risked life and limb to lunge between the lorries and rescue Miss garmen. Not expecting there to be anything left salvaging. But after a closer look they were all totally amazed that she was still in one piece! They turned her on and amazingly she lit up and still worked a treat! Now shes called Madam Garmen not Miss. Shes not as pretty as she used to be, but who cares if she has a few wrinkles now, shes still working!
Fran and Pia had an experiance of their own today. They had a traffic jamb in the Ladies . All the Well fed, under excersiced German fraus in the camp ( they all seem to come away on holiday without their lady shavers) all showed up to gether, peeled off their tops and qued up at the sinks in their large nickers ( the term nickers doesnt seem to do that type of lingerie justice) and proceeded to wash their upper bodies. The girls squeezed past offering their deoderant but had no takes.
Germany, Luxembourg and Belguim are absolutly stunning countryside to ride through when the sun is shineing, very lush and green. The trees are all in full spring leaf. Canola in full bloom. There is lots of silage been made, alot more livestock around. They saw very little evidence of livestock in Eastern Europe, proberbly a hangover from the communists days when labour was needed for industry and I guess the most labour efficient way to utilise the land was growing crops.
