Fog and Armor
Carol had ordered an armoured shirt from the States but it had been hung up in Customs for over 2 weeks prior to our leaving for the trip, so Caropl re-ordered it and had it sent to our friend Rita, who lives in Pasadena. Carol had purchased the Bohn armor pants from ActionStation.com out of Chico, Calif. and has been extremely happy with the product and their service. Travelling from Vegas to Pasadena was O.K. till we hit a pass out of Apple Valley and then the fog. It was tolerable at first and then became so thick that vehicles 30 ft. in front simply disappeared. A couple of thoughts came to mind, I can't see them, they can't see me, is it better to pull over, will the fog get better, where is Carol in all of this, how bad is it for her while she has her sunglasses on and can't stop, is this going to be one of those 50 car pile-ups. We met Rita at the world famous IN and Out burger franchise, had a nice talk, picked up the armored shirt and proceeded to look for a motel room in the rain. We have really been tested the last couple of days weather wise. Once again we had to convince the service desk to give us a room with no credit card just cash. This will prove to be a major obstacle in the future.
