Rock and rock gardens
Presently writing from Loreto, Baja Calif. South, an 11,000 person community on the east side of the peninsula. We are staying here for a couple of days to unwind, catch up on e-mailing, giving our rumps a rest and aclimating to the sudden rise in temps. We've had to deal with crap weather for the last week, so 30+ temps are a nice change. Accommodations all the way down the peninsula have been affordable and secure. Leaving late out of Tijuana, we could only travel for another hour before dark so we stopped in La Fonda, a small seaside hotel, where Americans come down to for dinner, dance and surfing. They had an excellent band playing hits from the 70's, 80's and 90's, from the Cars, Pink Floyd, Bryan Adams as well as Latin music. The place was rockin'.This place was built up over a long time and has rooms terraced up the cliff, all with great views, patios and wood burning fireplaces in the bedrooms, muy romantico. Great restaurant and watchman for the parking lot.
