Day 10

Day in Santiago de Compostela

Wet and cold morning. Very foggy.

The fog soon cleared. It was cloudy and a nice day to walk around. I walked in the center of town for 3-4 hours.

The Cathedral of course. It is a major restauration ongoing. So there is now activities in the church. And not that much to see inside. I would have like to be in the church during a ceremony. I could enjoy the impressive outside. The plaza outside was filled with happy people. A lot of them pilgrims, finishing their camino.

There are a lot of other impressing building in the town. And on the roads are people doing their last kilometers of their pilgrim jouney. Or resting after finishing. All this creates a nice and friendly environment. There are many cafes where you can sit and enjoy the feeling.

Since the weather forecast for next day is heavy rain, I decided to use the evening for a tour to Finisterre lighthouse. I entered Finisterre in the navigator. Got a hit. The distace was as expexted. Of I went, following the directions. And I ended up at the coast. But at the wrong place 🙁. My navigator had found a bar called Finisterre. And the driving time and direction was not so off that I reacted. But I had been driving SW instead of NW. And it was getting late. Only alternative was to return to the camping. No lighthouse this time. At the end of the world. And km 0 of the Santiago Camino.
