Final stages
Oh the pain .... Ok so despite all the planning and the multiple shots required for such an adventure the real pain hit me today when it came time to convert some Canadian currency to the dreaded American dollar!
Now that is real pain - with the current exchange rate every dollar cost $1.25 - ooch! I know you can't take it with you but I though that meant death not on vacation:)
Ok - now that I got that off my chest I feel much better......
So we leave on Saturday 12 of September and I thought I better get started on the packing - I started with a bare KLR650 -
;
All along I thought no problem - tons of room- I mean after all 2.5 months on the road how much can you need - 2 or 3 pairs of underwear - maybe couple pairs of socks - toothbrush and your good to go - that was my thinking probably not good news for my travelling buddies but hey - i cant worry about everything. Oh then there is the electronics - Action Camera - computer - cell phone - BT Communicators - and all the chargers and extras and it adds up - oh and I have to take my sleep apnea machine - etc etc etc ...
Spares for the bike - 1st aid kit - emergency roadside kit -
Surely - 2 Happy Trails Panniers - a modified Dewalt toolbox/top case and a tank bag would provide more than enough packing room -
well lets see....
